We are extremely proud of our scholarship recipients and our entire applicant pool.  Six incoming freshman and upperclass students applied this application cycle.  The students submitted strong applications, wrote reflective essays, and represented themselves and their families well in their interviews. ​

​

Jadyn Latimore is a Sophomore at Florida A&M majoring in Chemical Engineering.  Mariya Williams is a Freshman at Southeastern Louisiana University majoring in Nursing.  James Laseter-Hall is a Freshman at North Carolina A&T majoring in Civil Engineering.  Tyler Banks is a Sophomore at North Carolina Central majoring in Criminal Justice.

This is the McLaughlin Legacy.  The students cover the medical profession, pharmaceuticals, transportation infrastructure, and the criminal justice system. Imagine Zion providing a safe dose of anesthesia that allows Matthias to safely operate on a patient that Mariya eventually cares for in recovery, administering medicine Jadyn worked on and helped get approved.  Meanwhile, James made sure the roads and bridges were safe for travel to the hospital and Tyler, well, she's going to protect them all.
