What is the goal of the fund?

The goal of the scholarship fund is twofold: to help meet the financial needs of our scholars holding them in community and love, and to honor and recognize members of the McLaughlin legacy. 

 

How many scholarships will be offered this year?

Two $1,500 scholarships.

 

Will the Named Scholarships change each year?

Yes. The goal is to honor and recognize a different family member (deceased or alive) each year. 

 

Who will be honored in 2026?

John Marshal Latimore, Claudia Banks, and Annie Banks. 

 

When is the application deadline?

Sunday, August 9 at 11:59 pm

 

When will the scholarship recipients be announced? 

Sunday, August 23

 

Who is eligible to apply?

Any descendent of Charlie McLaughlin enrolled at a college, university or trade school.

Where will my monetary contributions go?

All contributions will be transferred directly to the scholarship recipients. 

 

Are my donations tax-deductible?

No. Your thoughtful contributions to the McLaughlin Scholarship Fund are not tax-deductible. The McLaughlin Scholarship Fund is not facilitated through a 501(c)(3).
